🌟 Community Member of the Month: Micki McCarthy 🌟
We are proud to recognize Micki McCarthy as our May Community Member of the Month for her remarkable service, leadership, and lasting contributions to the Elmwood community.
Micki’s commitment to Elmwood runs deep. A dedicated member of the Elmwood Community Foundation, she currently leads the capital campaign for the proposed Wellness Center/YMCA project—a visionary effort aimed at improving the health and vitality of our town.
Her leadership also left a lasting mark on education. Serving three terms on the Elmwood CUSD 322 Board, including time as Secretary and President. She was the first female Board of Education President. During her presidency, she helped lead the district through the critical transition to build the current elementary school building after the former was condemned.
Her passion for service extends beyond Elmwood. Micki currently serves on the Board of OSF Children’s Hospital and the Board of United Way, lending her expertise and heart to causes that impact countless lives across our region.
A respected independent consultant, Micki supports organizations in building successful fundraising and legacy giving programs. Her experience is rooted in a rich career that includes serving in development roles at Easter Seals and Bradley University, and retiring from the OSF Foundation, where she played a key role in establishing their Legacy Giving program.
Micki’s impact in Elmwood has been profound. She initiated and managed the capital campaign, through the Foundation, that supported construction of the Claude Keefer Industrial Arts building, enhancing opportunities for local students.
In addition to her public service, Micki was known for her active involvement in Elmwood schools when her children were young—a reflection of her lifelong dedication to education, family, and community.
Please join us in thanking and congratulating Micki McCarthy for her extraordinary commitment to Elmwood. Her legacy of leadership, vision, and service continues to inspire us all.. #TheTrojanWay
