As the President of the Elmwood Elementary Parents Club, she goes above and beyond to ensure every event is successful, meaningful, and seamlessly organized. Her attention to detail, often done quietly behind the scenes, creates experiences that our students and families will remember for years to come.
Beyond her leadership in the Parents Club, Emily dedicates countless volunteer hours to the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and several other nonprofit and community-run events throughout Elmwood. She never seeks recognition for the hard, often thankless work she does, yet her impact is visible everywhere. Many of Elmwood’s most successful projects and events bear the mark of her commitment, creativity, and care.

Elmwood was recognized as one of only five Featured Schools in the entire state at the Raising Student Achievement Conference in Oak Brook, IL! This honor celebrates our 2-year professional development initiative focused on teacher health and wellness and mentorship for new teachers. 🌟
Our JH Special Education teacher Mrs. Lane Hampton and Dr. Kristen Strom, who developed and led the series, presented a powerful session titled:
“Beyond the Classroom: Empowering New Teachers Through Mentorship and Wellness.” 🎤✨
Their session highlighted:
🧘♀️ The importance of supporting teacher well-being
🤝 How mentorship strengthens new teacher confidence and success
🌱 The lasting, positive impact this initiative has on teachers—both in and beyond the classroom
